NW rarities gold special $10 lib xf $345
$345 for a $10 raw liberty head, graded XF, hows that? plus only $8 s/h. which is reasonable if you ask me. New world rarities ran an ad in smart money for F-VF liberty eagles at $329 per, but when I called they popped it up meantime for increase in spot. so I instead I did something from their website, see below, some good deals. look under tab "gold specials"
http://www.therarecoinvault.com/ I think if you poke around you will be hard pressed to find raw gold as low a price as this. they have really low prices on commems, in this ad they run in the coin mags. if you see better price vendors of these things link em up here. |

Meh....I dunno. I see they also have rolls of 1921 Morgans au/bu for $359.50. That's about $7.73 over melt value for each one...before shipping. There were a lot of Morgans that never really got circulated because they weren't a popular coin. Many sat in bank vaults for a looooong time. So I don't see why many common dates in good condition should demand such a premium. But that's just me. This site has a couple of decent deals but you have to be aware of what you're buying.

cheapest are culls and cheapest I have seen is a roll of 20 for about 11 each. not with NW, but with a LC coins if I recall correct. and apmex has them for that too sometimes. culls will be scratched, worn, and dirty as hell. next up you have worn 1921s. worn or un-worn, 21 can be had easy for $15. I just sold some to a dealer for $9. anyhow figure that morgans have something like .79 oz of silver in them if memory serves. if you just figure 8 tenths that is easy to compute in your head. pre-21 goes up from there, depending on date and condition. for some pre 21s that would be a fair price. For BU type morgan pre 21 I think $18 per would be a pretty good price actually. if you are talking ms 60 or better or even "sliders" which means AU. But I dont know about the product you're pointing to. I am only pointing to their $10 liberties. a lot of vendors have different "loss leaders" to bring people in. not all will have the same pricing. that would be boring eh? |

someone mentioned apmex. for comparison purposes, I note they offer 355 for cleaned and 366 for XF raw coins of this type http://www.apmex.com/Category/99/100...1838_1907.aspx apmex really has a fantastic catalogue. they are always a good comparison shop. if you can get it for less at apmex why bother with another vendor. but in this case I have provided an example. I noticed that in the same issue of smart money magazine, another vendor I wont even name, and which I hadnt heard of, was selling the same product for more than 2x as much as NW rarities. there are a lot of suckers being hauled into coin collecting with these expensive full page ads in the financials. you have to give credit to the vendors that are offering reasonable deals instead of sucker plays. nw rarities has placed good ads before and you know universal coin regularly does too. they offer loss leaders or "cost" type deals to get your name as a customer basically and the chance to pitch higher premium stuff off the phone. I recognize that and I am polite and never an a-hole about it, but I also never bite on their other stuff. |

Yankee eh, I have one or two friends from out east. It says Hauppage NY whereever that is, but the guy on the phone was all Jersey. In terms of coin magazine ads, and internet, NW rarities has the best prices for pretty much all commemoratives. I am not big on commems but the only place I could get them for less is in a coin shop I go to oncet a while, and they are pretty much the same price just less since I wouldnt pay shipping. |
Re: NW rarities gold special $10 lib xf $345
I think Gold is going to pop this fall. Max $750 before they bop it down again. That was the situation last year and I think it will happen again. This year I will sell some of my stock rather than holding. Hell I may sell some ETFs I got, take a hit on the collectibles cap gain tax, and put the net into my ridiculous credit card balances. :shocked_ma:

either increased war in afganistan/iraq/iran could make it pop, or inflation, or a devaluation. devaluation is a real possibility for a lot of reasons none the least of which is possible trade retaliation against china. but the war might die down, and Congress has done all they could to aid in "free trade and globalism" so why should they stop now. inflation is being tempered by slow growth. so we may see the price just go sideways. but I dont see a return to 500 levels do you? |
Re: NW rarities gold special $10 lib xf $345
I ordered a couple from them, was pretty happy with the coins that showed up. I wish I had gotten in on the $324 deal when spot was lower a few weeks ago. I'm kicking myself for hesitating and missing that one.

I got this coin and I'm pleased. but I think it may have been cleaned, it looks a little too uniform. anybody got a good link with pictures that can help me detect this? I think I'll keep it either way, esp since apmex was offering cleaned ones for a higher price, if they gave me a cleaned one what the hell, no biggie, though I wouldve prefered otherwise I aint sendin it back!

Re: NW rarities gold special $10 lib xf $345
seems like a good deal nowadays....i tried to order and they told me not at the price on the web!

good vendor of commems
huh that is too bad. they have a lot of alleged deals on their website too,.
http://www.therarecoinvault.com/ right now it says their $10 liberty xf price is 395 w no motto and 345 with motto but you just cant make these vendors sell at their web prices if gold is on a steep climb. I went into my corner store looking for a 2.50 indian head and they guy wouldnt honor his web price that was like a year old. he gave me the low side of greysheet, which was fine anyhow. they run an ad in the coin magazines that lists all the commems at the best prices. I have never seen any commems for sale on net or in mags at better prices than what they list. I am not a buyer of commems but if I got a big nut I might snatch a bunch up from these guys. |

too bad you wasted your time. I might have let fly a sideways comment about "bait and switch" just to see if they reconsidered. |
